Origin of the Easter Bunny
The concept of the Easter Bunny evolved over time, and by the late 17th century, it became a part of German folklore. The "Osterhase" or "Oschter Haws" was said to be a rabbit that would lay eggs for well-behaved children to find on Easter morning.
German immigrants brought this tradition with them when they settled in the United States, particularly in Pennsylvania, during the 18th century. Over time, the customs evolved further, and the Easter Bunny became a popular figure that brought not only eggs but also candies and other treats to children during the Easter season. Today, the Easter Bunny is a beloved character in many Western countries and is often depicted as a symbol of the joy and renewal that comes with the arrival of spring.
