DLTK's Halloween Crafts for Kids
Springy Spiral Snake

You've probably made springy coil snakes from paper plates at some time in your life -- I remember making one at camp about 25 years ago (eep, has it been that long already!?)

Note:  To make a Halloween paper plate version, you just paint the paper plate orange or black (or your choice of snake color).  Then you cut a coil shape from the paper plate, decorate it further as a snake and hang it from the roof.

On this page, I've provided instructions and a paper craft template that makes a similar project to the traditional paper plate coil snake.

Materials

bulletone sheet of card stock or thin cardboard (old cereal boxes work well) -- I used orange card stock so it matched the snake.

bullethole punch
bulletstring, wool or ribbon

bulletIf using the B&W version, color in the template.
