Stain Glass Easter Egg Craft

This fun and simple craft is a great way for for children to make creative easter eggs that can be used to decorate the house and celebrate easter!
Materials:
- construction paper or cardstock,
- tissue paper squares,
- clear plastic sheets -- sheet protectors or waxed paper both work,
- glue stick,
- scissors.
Instructions:
- First, cut out one of the Easter egg stencils and trace it onto a piece of construction paper (or make your own shape!). Then cut the shape out of the piece of construction paper.
Take the clear plastic sheet and glue your construction paper outline onto it.
some people like to use self adhesive, clear contact paper. It works great for older children, but when working with preschool children or groups of kindergarteners, I find it ends up full of fingerprints, stuck to itself or even stuck to the children's hair lol. For these groups, waxed paper or plastic sheet protectors and glue work best, I think. Now, put some glue within the egg shape and stick on small square pieces of tissue paper until it is fully covered.
I like to crumple up my tissue paper sometimes to give it a little more texture.Once the glue has dried, cut off the excess plastic and hang it up on a window and it will look like stained glass. Enjoy!
You can create your tissue paper stained glass easter egg craft in different ways:

with a border

using different shapes of tissue paper

try a different outline, like a cross, a flower or a chick.
