Puzzle Piece Heart Wreath Craft

This craft is such a cute craft that is very easy to make and fun for all ages. Plus, the finished product looks so artistic and makes a great decoration piece.

I have tons of puzzles left over from when I was little but so many of them are missing pieces, which is why I love to find lovely crafts like this to make use of those pieces instead of throwing them away.

Materials:

• Valentine's color paint like pink, purple or red,
• paint brush,
• puzzle pieces,
• cardboard
• scissors,
• glue (hot glue is fastest but requires an adult's assistance),
• ribbon

Instructions:

• Paint the puzzle pieces with Valentine's day colours.
  • Get as creative as you want with this! You can create a pattern, use a sponge to give it texture, try splattering the paint, or any other fun painting ideas.
  • You can either paint each individual puzzle piece or put the whole puzzle together and paint it as a picture (just be careful taking the puzzle pieces apart once the paint is dry).
• Cut a heart wreath shape out of a piece of cardboard.
  • I laid my puzzle pieces out first to get an idea of what size I needed; different sized puzzle pieces will need a different sized heart.
  • You can also use the template below to help you get started drawing the heart.
• Glue the first layer of puzzle pieces along the cardboard heart wreath.
  • Hot glue makes the process a lot faster but younger children should use school glue.
• Once the first layer dries, move onto the second layer of puzzle pieces.
  • Try to stagger the second layer of puzzle pieces.
• Tie a ribbon to the top of the heart in the shape of a bow (you may want to use some glue to keep the ribbon secure) this way you can hang the heart wreath.

• Set page margins to zero if you have trouble fitting the template on one page (FILE, PAGE SETUP or FILE, PRINTER SETUP in most browsers).
