DLTK's Crafts for Kids
Spooky Spider Handprint Craft
Thanks to Hali for contributing this project -- Kaitlyn loves hers!!
I have a craft you may like to add. It is a spider made of the children's hand prints (from black tempera paint).
Materials:
- paper,
- glue,
- scissors
- Optional: wiggly eyes
Instructions:
- dip both hands in black paint and print them fingers away from each other and heals of the hand touching.
- When dry, cut out and slightly bend the fingerprints to make legs.
- Poke a pin through the centre and thread a string through taping it to the underside of the spider.
- add wiggly eyes if desired.
You're done! You can hang from anywhere!
I did this with my dayhome kids ages 6 months to 5 years, and they all loved it.
Suggestion from a viewer:
"For the Halloween spider hand print
craft, a faster, less messy version: Instead of covering hand with
paint, use black paper. Kids then trace their hands (without the thumb),
cut them out (keeping both hand tracings attached), bend the fingers and
add the string."
